The final round of the PGA Tour's flagship event has arrived, and it is filled with a number of high quality pairings. The last day of the 2025 Players Championship will take place earlier than usual on Sunday as inclement weather is expected to roll into the Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, area in the afternoon.

It looked like the cut was going to fall right at one-under at the Players Championship for most of Friday, but there was a chance later in the day that two under was going to be the magic number. Ultimately it held at one and 72 players made the cut after taking 143 shots in two days at TPC Sawgrass.

With gusts up to 30 mph, Spaun shot 2-under 70 to take a one-shot lead into the final round, where TV and tee times have been moved up.

A day after he barely broke 80, Justin Thomas nearly broke 60. The 2021 champion at TPC Sawgrass has put his name next to another entry in the record books as he recorded a 10-under 62 in the second round of the 2025 Players Championship to tie the course record.

There were nine players tied for the course record prior to the 2023 playing of the Players. Now there's two guys tied for the mark.

The 51st edition of The Players Championship continues Saturday on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. A cut was made to 72 players with Akshay Bhatia and Min Woo Lee leading the way at 11 under par. The Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, site of the 2025 Players Championship on the PGA Tour, was designed by architect Pete Dye with plenty of input from his wife, Alice. The layout in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, opened in 1980 and has been home to the tournament since 1982.

Finau’s best finish at TPC Sawgrass is T-19 in 2023 and this is now five missed cuts in nine career Players starts. Considering he’d finished T-13 at Pebble and T-5 at the Genesis, it seemed like he’d play better this week, but it just might just be that this isn’t the place for him
