Nov 1, 2022 · If you don’t mind right hand drive the Toyota hiace and Mitsubishi delica are two fantastic 4wd vans. Both small, reliable, capable vehicles. They are 20+ years old now so they are being imported into the US and are not very pricey either.

I'm a guy from flanders, Belgium in europe and I am looking to buy a good 4x4 van for a decent price, as my budget isn't extremely high. I have a bachelors degree in elektromechanics - maintenance so I'll be doing all the work on the car myself. I prefer older vans against new ones. So I am not affraid to buy an oldtimer.

Then there's heavier stuff, like cab-and-chassis full-size vans, with varying boxes on the back, from box truck to enclosed service beds, to shuttle buses.

I have picked mostly medium vans or cars that have livable space you can sort of camp in them. Not full luxury builds but a medium sized adult can potential sleep on them, and live for extended time outdoors.

I agree with others here that the way to go is a 4x4 truck and Four Wheel Camper type living situation. Almost the same as a van.
