If your battery pack voltage is too low, your PowerWise charger will not turn on. With the charger plugged into AC outlet, plug the charge plug into the cart.

Set the voltage to about 58v and the current to under 1A. Remember, when allowing for losses, 1A at 58v will be about a 6A draw from the 12v battery.

The on-charge voltage rises as more and more AH are pumped into battery and 10.8V (2.70VPC) is about the max on-charge voltage for an 8V battery.

It hums when plugged into cart, so that means the charger is sensing the battery pack, which in turn means that the fuse in the white wire going to the battery pack from the charge receptacle isn't blown. So there might be a blown fuse in the output of the charger, or blown diodes.

May 30, 2014 · All of this information comes from the Trojan battery manufacturing company. Exchange the one bad battery and get yourself a better charger with auto shut off. Unless you are a scientist you are not going to properly care for the batteries with a manual charger. The result will be shorter useful battery life.

Dec 10, 2019 · Spoke with a tech person at Schauer today, really nice guy, said it sounds more like a battery issue, charger is less than 2yrs old. He said there is a 17 hr auto shut off and suggested charging for that long to see if it shuts off. If the batteries are going bad, they are a few yrs old, will charging that long hurt them more?
Charger Hums...Does Not Charge - Buggies Gone Wild
Aug 20, 2012 · Did new battery break in per Scotty B's instructions. Everything worked great. Charged every time to about 38-39 volts per Scotty B's digital SOC meter. Now the charger hums but it does not show any voltage going to the batteries. Each battery is down to 6.1 volts and it won't change. The SOC does not increase while the charger is on.
