Ultrasonic Sensor Block - Lego
The Ultrasonic Sensor block gets data from the Ultrasonic Sensor. You can measure the distance in either inches or centimeters and get a Numeric output. You can also compare the distance to a Threshold Value to get a Logic (True or False) output.
EV3 Sensors - LEGO Engineering
Mar 22, 2018 · Ultrasonic sensor (distance) The ultrasonic sensor measures distance to an object up to a maximum of 255cm (or 100 inches) away. It does this by sending out high frequency sound waves that bounce off any object in range, and measuring how long it takes the sound to return to the sensor.
EV3 basics course. Ultrasonic Sensor. Detect object (part1)
Oct 12, 2015 · We are introducing the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Ultrasonic Sensor. The first program is actually to detect an object and stop near it, at about 4 inches/10 centimeters. The ultrasonic sensor could be used during robotics competitions, …
WHAT IS A SENSOR? • A sensor lets an EV3 program measure and collect data about is surroundings • The EV3 sensors include: • Color –measures color and darkness • Gyro –measures rotation of robot • Ultrasonic –measures distance to nearby surfaces • Touch –measures contact with surface • Infrared –measures IR remote’s ...
Object Detection - LEGO® Education
Demonstrate the Wait Block and how to use it with the Ultrasonic Sensor. Ask the students how they could make a program to detect any obstacles that might appear while the wheeled robot is moving forward (or backward).

Some examples of how you can use the Ultrasonic Sensor in your program are shown below. This program makes a robot drive forward until the Ultrasonic Sensor detects something closer …
How does the EV3 Ultrasonic sensor works? | FLLCasts
Aug 17, 2018 · The Ultrasonic distance sensor can help the robot avoid obstacles. Students work with concepts like loop, degrees and medium motor. Robots can now do two different actions at the same time - while solving missions on a field, the third motor clears detected obstacles.
The Ultrasonic Sensor can help your robots avoid furniture, track a moving target, detect an intruder in your room, or “ping” with increasing volume or frequency as an object gets closer to the sensor.
