Nov 24, 2018 · OP, if they have a decent TV anyway, it might be worth looking at a smart PVR that plugs into the TV. I have a Youview box which has apps in - HUMAX also have a good repitation. Would be cheaper than replacing the TV. Works the same way, but a PVR allows them to record TV as well -fairly easy to set up series record etc.

Apr 17, 2021 · I don't know anyone in my age group who hasn't got a smart TV. We're pretty bright, in spite of our age. I know some younger folk who aren't tech savvy too. It will depend on the required size, anyway. Why not just google 'basic tv'. The internet's jam packed full of tellies. For all ages and abilities.

Oct 7, 2019 · Joann is spot on. It's not the TV but the remote that creates the issues. I can't tell you the problems my 92 y/o mother has with her remote provided by Comcast. She keeps changing the language to Spanish then calling to tell me there's no 'voice' on her TV (if she can figure out how to use the phone).

I'm not really aware of any TVs specifically designed for this - I kind of suspect that any modern smart TV is going to be slightly complicated to use for someone of that age not least of all because on a small TV it's going to be hard to see the damn menus.
