Dec 28, 2019 · If graphics card is AMD, you would also want to set the Pixel Format to RGB PC mode. Brings the best out of the colours with the limited bandwith. HDMI is ok for TV/PC thats maybe 10-15 ft away but nothing close up, its dissapointing. VGA all the way. Good luck

Jul 13, 2019 · OK, I have at my office table 2 PC's and I have 2 - 32" 1440p monitors. I currently have it setup that each PC has it's own screen. But I would like it if there was an HDMI splitter/switch that would allow me to switch so that either PC could have dual monitor setup. Not at the same time of course as that would seem impossible.

I don't think the standard systems will handle more than 2 monitors without separate GPU card -- even a splitter might require you to use something like an HDMI switcher to switch between the monitors connected to the splitter. Jan 12, 2020 · The Nvidia card has a display port to HDMI adapter, which I use to connect to the HDMI audio extractor which sends the HDMI on to the HDTV. But all the sound it ever gets is stereo. I plug a fireTV stick into the HDMI splitter and I get 5.1 Dolby out of the sound coaxial port on both the splitter and the HDTV, so the hardware works.

Sep 22, 2017 · Most Notebooks/Laptops have a keyboard setting for control such as the Fn key plus another F key or other key/s for dimming/increasing the display, shouldn't affect the HDMI [or VGA on some] output. An example, my Vostro 1510 uses the Fn key plus the Up and Down arrows to make the changes while may ASUS uses the Fn key plus F5 or F6 for change.

I have a couple of Dell Notebooks with the HDMI port instead of a VGA port and they have a hardware control, press the Fn key plus the F1 key at the same time to toggle between the LCD panel, the HDMI port or both at the same time. That control may be different on other brands or models.

It works like an EDID override, without that I would not get a Dolby surround output out of the TV RAW coaxial output port. see the system looks at what HDMI device is plugged in and only sends the audio it knows it can play.

Aug 9, 2017 · I already had 2 pretty old Dell monitors, but they work fine. With my old Dell, I had a y splitter that ran out of the back of the VGA port and split and then each monitor was plugged in to the y splitter. This worked great. I had 2 monitors where the screen worked independently of each other. For the new Dell, I had to buy a new y splitter.
