Jan 27, 2022 · Unfortunately there doesn't really seem to be any stand alone Genesis emulators that are updated and Kega Fusion hasn't been updated in over a decade. If you want to use anything that's updated your best bet is to use Retroarch with the Genesis Gx Plus Core.

For any Sega fan, this emulator will suffice. Very stable and it allows CD 32x and sms emulation as well. Try this first. Gens (Stay away) - same input delay as kega, but that's where the positives stop. Avoid this emulator at all costs. Bad sound, lag, and inaccuracies. This emulator is NOT allowed for speedruns based on accuracy alone.

Is there a up-to-date Sega Genesis Standalone Emulator?
Feb 21, 2024 · I saw that GBA has got two new Emulators lately, NanoBoyAdvance and SkyEmu. Meanwhile mGBA is already doing a excellent job and i thought why isn't there any Sega Genesis Emulator Standalone out there that is constantly getting updates like Snes9x, FCEUX etc. you probably get what i mean.

Apr 29, 2020 · I tested latest "Genesis Plus GX" & "PicoDrive" cores in RetroArch 1.8.5. They still can't run Overdrive 2 100% correctly. Sky is wrong with "Genesis Plus GX": https://postimg.cc/4mDM6ZbS. "PicoDrive" has more serious graphical glitches in other parts.

Genesis Plus GX can launch Sega Mega Drive, Mega-CD, Master System, Game Gear, SG-1000 and Pico ROMs. There was a Windows stand-alone release for Genesis Plus GX years and years ago, but it was never updated. A new stand alone release of Genesis Plus GX Wide would be great.
